Is Ontario Liberal Party « Centre-Left »?

[edit]

I have looked at the platform of the OLP, and it bears a striking resemblance to the the platform of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, which from what I understand is described as « Centre-right ». In addition to this, former Liberal Party leader Steven Del Duca was called « Centre-Right » multiple times over the course of the 2022 provincial election. Would it be a good idea to describe the OLP as « Centre to Centre-Right »? I also noticed that the OLP’s leader, Bonnie Crombie, is listed as an adherent of the “Blue Grits”, which is described as “a right of centre member or supporter of the federal Liberal Party, or many of the provincial Liberal parties in Canada.” by it’s page. Because of this, I believe that it would be better to describe it as centre to centre-right. Notanegoist (talk) 13:26, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is inappropriate for us to make this determination. See WP:NOR. Instead, we must rely on what reliable sources (WP:RS) say. --Yamla (talk) 18:38, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, this is first time making a proposal like this. Could you tell me some general things that would be considered reliable sources? Notanegoist (talk) 18:40, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oop, wait, I’ve got something.

The policy in question is WP:RS which I already linked to. --Yamla (talk) 18:45, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bonnie Crombie claims the OLP is centre-right

[edit]

the OLP leader has self defined her party as being "right of centre" perhaps we should change the position to "centre - centre right: https://www.tvo.org/article/we-govern-from-right-of-centre-bonnie-crombie-on-how-shed-lead-the-ontario-liberals Hholdenday (talk) 18:06, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
